Fixing Invalid Shortcuts
When you select the Find and fix invalid shortcuts on the Scanning Conditions tab, Reg
Organizer will analyze every shortcut stored on the selected drives or folders depending on the Drives
or folders to scan settings.
For each shortcut Reg Organizer analyzes whether or not the shortcut actually points to an existing
application, document or other file.
You can begin the process of searching by clicking the Scan Disk(s) button on the toolbar.

Be patient, searching for invalid shortcuts may take a long time!
|
After the search is complete, a list of all invalid shortcuts found by the program is displayed on the Results tab in a table consisting of several columns showing info about the name of the shortcut, its type, size, location on the disk and also a description of the problem and recommendations by Reg Organizer.
After you look through the list, decide what actions to take for each case. The program enables you either to remove a shortcut or fix an invalid shortcut depending on whether the file the shortcut points to can be found or not. Select those items that need to be processed one way or the other (e.g. only the shortcuts to be removed or only those to be fixed) and click the Fix Shortcuts button.
