Disk Cleanup
Searching for Useless Files
Unnecessary files are useless files that are stored in your computer occupying precious disk space. Various temporary files are created either by applications or Windows. These include log files with outdated reports on the activities of system utilities.
To search for unnecessary files, select the Find useless files of the following types on the
Scanning Conditions tab of Disk Cleanup window and specify where to search-either disks that
should be searched for files on the Drives tab, or separate folders on the Single folders tab.
The file search is based on useless files wildcards. A fairly large list of these is displayed below the Find useless files of the following types item. We recommend that you carefully look through this list and if you think it contains extensions of files necessary in your work, just clear the checkboxes of those items so the program will not process files having those extensions.
You can begin the process of searching for unnecessary files by clicking the Scan Disk(s) button on the toolbar.

Searching for files may take quite a long time, especially on large disks with a lot of various files, so be patient and wait until the search is complete. You can see an estimate of time remaining on the progress bar at the bottom of the window.
|
After the search is complete, a list of found files will be displayed in the Results tab.
If you find files on the list that you think you need, just clear the checkbox next to them. Once this is done, click the Remove Selected button and Reg Organizer will remove these unnecessary files from your computer. Please note that this process may also take some time!
