The New Features of Reg Organizer 5.0 Beta 3

The third beta version of Reg Organizer 5 has been released. The authors of the program fixed several issues that occurred on a number of computers (for example, a dialog window prompting for a disc appeared on some computers during the automatic registry cleanup) and added new features described below.

The first and the most prominent addition is the automatic updates check feature. In the previous versions of Reg Organizer users had to download an additional plug-in that checked for program updates. Starting from Reg Organizer 5, external modules are no longer supported and the updates check feature is now integrated into the application.

To check for a new program version, run the "Check for Updates" command in the "Help" submenu of the Main Menu. The application will send a request to the server and will notify you if any updates are available.

You can also configure the program to check for updates automatically each time it is started (but no more than once a day). To do that, enable automatic updates checking in the “Check for Updates” section of the settings.

Another novelty is the ability to easily navigate from the automatic registry cleanup results page to the registry editor and back. If something in the automatic registry cleanup results caught your eye or appeared suspicious and you decided to take a closer look at this registry item, you can now do it simply by choosing the “Open This Item in Registry Editor” command from the context menu. To go back to the automatic cleanup mode results, click the automatic registry cleanup button again and the program will show you the results of the most recent scan.

Apart from these new capabilities, the program now has a “Tip of the Day” feature, which randomly shows you useful tips related to the program. You can view tips by clicking the “Tip of the Day” item in the “Help” submenu of the Main Menu.
