How to install new programs properly

When in search of a specific type of program, users often try many variants. They install each one on the computer and don’t even uninstall it afterward when the application didn’t match their expectations. It’s not uncommon for 2 or 3 additional application companions to be installed along with the main program. So when it comes to uninstalling one of these programs, the companion apps stay in the system, sometimes for a long time.
If you install a completely unknown application, here are a few simple rules you should follow:
- Before you install anything, check the installation file using a bulk antivirus scanner like VirusTotal.com. This will help to prevent virus infection. The aforementioned service checks the uploaded file for all major antiviruses at once and gives a summary report.
- Install the app with tracking. To do this, run Reg Organizer and select the Applications tool. Then click the Install with Tracing button. Follow the instructions of the Wizard.
This will allow you to remove this application and all traces of it completely, including companion apps possibly installed with it. This seriously reduces the load to your system.
- Pay attention to the installation process. Turn off all installation options that presume to install additional applications. Such companion applications often stay in the system for months, and the user does not even know about them. Meanwhile, they load with the system and eat up a large portion of system resources.
- If the program does not suit your needs or if you know for sure you won’t be using it anymore, uninstall it immediately from your computer to free up system resources for truly important tasks.
